We typically use a 90° spot and edge break requirement noted on the print. For example, M10x1.5 has a max major of ~10.4 and if the edge break requirement is .1-.5mm, we will have a chamfer diameter of Ø10.5-Ø10.9mm to satisfy the requirement.
