Could someone tell mw if there is any change needed to the normal procedure to design the roof diaphragm to a cottage style roof. I'm thinking not but not certain. The building would ne 62 x 110.
Thanks kindly

Are you talking dutch hip?

Yes There are 2 hip rafters at each end of a cottage roof.

Just put framing, sheathing, and nailing to match that of the roof diaphragm on the vertical wall of the hip with appropriate blocking and nailing top and bottom and you should be good. The endwall of the hip becomes a shear wall, of sorts.

Looks like a hipped roof to me. Cottages come in all types, so I think "cottage roof" is not structurally descriptive.

I misinderstood. Dutch hip is different.
