Cost of new 1200KVA service 1

Looking for a "rough guess" on what the cost of adding a new 1200kva (480V)service and distribution panel would be in an Industrial environment.

Don't have much info myself. The big Boss is looking for more of a "worst-case" scenario...

Well if you want just a WAG you can go to RS Means and look at their numbers. For yours, I would imagine worst case is a 2000A, 480V,3PH,4W they have at $52,500.00 + the distribution panel at $69,000.00 for a total of about $122k. This is for service and the main panel only. Then you add all your distribution, panels, etc....

RS Means is well suited for this, but you need to know that many factors will influence the end numbers, location, market, yada, yada, yada....

Varies by location too. Look up sources like RS Means, they will get you in the ball park or as accurate as anyone's guess here.

Just changing a few options on your switchgear can double the price.

As Zog said, this is for basic gear. If you get into non-standard AIC ratings, electronic breakers, custom metering, custom anything, copper bussing, whatever, all add dollars-quickly!

Don't forget to include the feeders. 2000A of copper conductor can get expensive if there's very far to go.
