Hi,

I am creating an exrta work order for the supply and install of materials for an industrial floor infill. Could someone provide me with a quick cost estimate so I have an idea what to expect from the contractors.

The floor includes supply/install of:
- three W360x39 [W14x26] beams spanning 7m [23ft]
- six W250x25 [W10x17]beams spanning 1.75m [5.75ft]
- approximately 100m^2 [~1060sq.ft]steel floor grating

As this area is located directly above another work area, the work also includes supply and install of:
- plywood to attach to approx. 35m [115ft] of handrail
- temporary steel plate to lay over grating ~100m^2

The work will take place on the 10th floor. Beams are already in place for the perimeter of the floor, these materials are for the infill. If someone could provide a quick estimate ($CAN.) it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Compute your steel tonnage and use a cost of $3,000 to $ 5,000 per ton. No one in here will do your work for you, no offense.

Please call your local fabricator and ask them to validate the cost per ton as well. This is because it depends on local and labor rates.

Regards,
Lutfi

@Mike: Dollars please.

@Lutfi: I understand what you mean and don't expect anyone to do my work for me. All I'm looking for is a rough estimate. I have done the pricing already, but would like a second opinion. I have two contractor quotes now and they differ considerably from each other, as well as my own estimate.

Thanks

Good luck with an estimate. There are so many variables and unknowns that I'm not sure I'd have confidence in the accuracy of estimates here.
