Does anyone know that how contact analysis can be performed in COSMOS for two surfaces of two bodies that are not in contact initially but they may later as a result of body deformation?

In short, yes you can approximate this using a node to node analysis for a small deformation.

I would recomend this question be asked over in the "Finite Element Analysis" forum though

Yes, select the bodies and select node to node contact/gap.

But pay attention that the analysis success may depend on the gap dimension (that is, this should work OK if the gap dimension is small comparing with the parts size).

If you have cosmosM you might be able to get a decent solution using the large contact option.

... not sure this is a SolidWorks Products question?
Not that I'm really complaining too much and you guys are keeping it brief, but we seem to have had a lot of off the subject posts lately. Just something to keep an eye on - also there might be a better forum to get better answers.

I was - and he did. So at least I didn't get coal.....
OK, OK, It's a reference to my holiday sig. "Be naughty - Save Santa a trip..."
