I cant get cosmetic threads to show up in my assembly drawing. But they show up just fine in the detail drawing (same compenent).
I researched the topic here and found this comment: "Starting with SW2005, cosmetic threads have to be inserted into drawings of assemblies".
Is this true? I would hate to have to insert all of those threads manually.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

You just go to Insert, Model Items and check cosmetic threads in the annotations area.

Sounds simple enough but still doesn't work.

I have this same problem and have just about given up on it. Tried inserting, went through all the options to make sure everything was checked ok, and still nothing. There are so many posts on this topic that I think it must be a SW issue. At least it shouldn't be this difficult. I suppose we could just draw them in, but I'm not going to bother until someone complains.

Try the following

1- Open the the Assembly Drawing
2- Set the Layer to NONE
3- Select Model Item
4- In the Model Item window deselect everything but for
the Cosmetic Thread icon, you might have to select it.
5- Check to see if the Layer at the bottom is set to NONE
6- Select the Green Checkmark.

They should appear now. Hope this helps you.
