corrupted config.win

i remember this used to be an issue in early 2001 versions, if you messed around with it too much it would freak out your buttons. well, i think i've done it again in WF3, but wanted to see if anyone else may have seen it for another reason. the buttons for view, display, hidden/nohidden/wireframe/shade have disappeared from the customize screen dialog. even my mapkeys matching the commands aren't working. the buttons appear in assembly mode for the flyout i created for them, but all are greyed out. of course i didn't keep every version i created while customizing either.

has anyone else seen this recently?
