Ive got a big drawing that I have been working on for a while. It will not open. It gets to 81% open and stops. The .bak file does the same thing. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Johnhan,
what ACAD are You running? What is big?

1. Restart Your computer.
2. Did You try to “_wherst”?
3. Search for *.ac$ file. Maybe You can rename the file into *.dwg…???

4. Good luck, Lothar

Win NT4.0 (SP6),
ACAD 2000i (SP2), ADT 3.0 (SP3),
ACAD 2002, ADT 3.3,
OCÈ 5200

what version of acad? 2002 has a much better recover tool.
try these
1. file -> drawing utilities -> recover

2. try to insert the damaged dwg as a block into a new
"good" dwg.

hope this helps

If recover doesn't work, increase your virtual memory to as much as you can.

The solution: While the drawing was loading I hit the escape key quickly and the file was loaded. Then I made a block of the image and inserted it into a new drawing. I did lose coordinate info and my usc was rotated. Thanks to all that replied.
