Can anyone tell me the difference between the corrosion rate (Mean and Upper limit values) as specified in BS-6349-1 2000 Code. The upper limit values are almost double when compared with mean value. More over the corrosion rates given in Eurocode 3 Part 5 piling (BSEN 1993-5:2007) Table 4.1 the maximum loss of thickness is given as 5.75mm for 100yrs (i.e., 0.0575mm/year). Any one please explain.
