In South Africa concrete used for structures that comein direct contact with sewerage such a a manhole or sump for a pump needs to be mixed with Dolomitic agregate as it corrosion at the same rate as te concrete (cement). If a Quartz type of agregate is used, then in +- 20 years the concrete holding the stone is corroded and it "falls" out leaving a void. This condition then has an iompact on your flow and in time will affect your steel reinforcing in structures. How true is this?
In the Free State, a province in RSA, we do not have Dolomitic stone whichc then makes it very expensive to get it to the construction site.
