Good afternoon, I am trying to make the simple face of a guage and I need to make a line, coming off of an arc and I need to copy it 16 times evenly around the acr. I tried to use circular pattern but it did not like the line. Is there any way of doing this? Thank you in advance for any assistance.

If it's a sketch, use the sketch circular pattern .

Thanks for the response, Chris. One dumb question, where is that hiding? The only one I see is the one in the features menu.

Thanks jeff, I found it unfotunately. It does not like anything I do. I have tried both the sketch driven pattern and the curve driven pattern. The line I am trying to pattern is in a separate sketch, if that matters. Any suggestions?

Can you show a pic of what you are trying to do?

Show that sketch. Select the Line. Use convert entities (ie: on edge). You know have this line in its own sketch parametrically related to the other sketch. If need be, convert the whole sketch and convert everthing but the line to construction geometry. then use circular sketch pattern (you only mentioned sketch dirven and curve driven. if it is not showing on the bottom of the pulldown menu go to customize) about your center point. You may want to go into help. Have you been using SW for a while. May want to take yourself through some tutorials.

After show that sketch I wanted to write -and then create a new sketch in the same plane.

You have to make the sketch-pattern of the line while editing the sketch the line is in. [bugeyed]

It is just a standard gauge, like you might have on your gas grill. I am just trying to put those silly lines in which happen to be on an arc or incomplete circle. If you really want a picture I guess I can do it if you tell me how. Thanks.

then like I said above, in a new sketch convert this line and the point you want to rotate it around from your previous sketch. Select and delete the instances you don't want

You definitely need the patterned line in the sketch you're working on. Convert the entity to a line in your sketch and that should work (as mentioned above). Should be a piece of cake.
