COPPER AND ALUMINUM

I have aluminum wire lugs and wnat to connect 6 AWG wire that is copper. Is it ok to combine the two materials.

Depends on the UL listing of the lugs. If they're listed or stamped "CU/AL" or similar, then you're set. If they're not listed or stamped as such, then you're out of luck.

Suggestion: The direct contact of aluminum and copper is not recommended. There may be a wire CU/AL transition or splice kit available or use AL/CU lugs. Visit

for an AL/CU splice kit. However, the AL/CU lug would be the simpler and better solution.
