What is an usual value for cooling tower efficiency ?? Mine is coming arround 22% sounds so low or is it matching Industry standard. What r ur takes

What is your definition of cooling tower efficiency?

The standard definition - Range/(range+approach)

I will tell you that when towers are tested at least 35% of them fail to make their design point.

Well that sounds like you have a small range and a large approach.

Some numbers would help here.

There is a finite limit for approach of probably 5F, but that requires a large tower according to spx.

A more normal approach range appears to be 15 to 20F.

So 22% sounds a bit low, but what are your parameters / design and measured wet bulb temperatures?

The efficiency of your cooling tower, also depends on chemical treatment of water that shall all ways taken into account.

Sir the cws temp is 34 and return temp is 38,39
Wet bulb being around 18-20

Must be quite small then compared to flow rate.

What does the vendor design say / look like?

Flowrate?
Size of tower?
Forced draft or natural?
Location?
Pictures?
