Cooling Tower Fills - Mechanical vs Glued bonding methods

1- Does anyone has an idea if bonding method of CT fills affects CT performance or not?

2- what are the pros and cons of each method considering easy assembly, cost, etc.

are you meaning the bonding method between layers of the fill pack in a cooling tower?
I have heard of an installation where the glue was dissolved when the pH got too high in the water system. The fill media basically fell apart.
This should be avoidable with good water quality control but is a possible disadvantage of glued installations.
