Hi - I have to route blow down water aprox 1000M Long through a pipe. It is advised to use SS , but this is very costly. Can we use any other alternative ? If SS can we use SS 304 ?

SS is not essential. You can use steel pipes with inside and outside protective coatings.

The water quality is the same as cooling tower water, and we normally use steel pipes with inside/outside coatings for cooling water pipes.

Is the piping pressurized, or gravity flow? Is the piping above ground or buried? Where is the blow down going?

How about PVC or CPVC?

Hi,
We have no idea about the size of your cooling water system and the treatment used for your application. What is the capacity of your blowdown?
This will affect the choice of metallurgy, same for Ph and temperature.
Now what is the diameter of your blowdown pipe? will it be buried or on pipe rack?
My experience is CS, again more info better answer.
Note: Blowdown should be treated prior to discharge.
