Hello,

I’m trying to find out how to determine the vapour generated during cooldown of cryogenic pipeline before loading/unloading operation to tanker (ship vessel). I need to size the boil-off gas compressor. Could you please help, what is the fastest way to get an estimate of vapour generated during cooldown of pipe. the pipeline will be insulated and before the ship comes it will be at ambient temperature.

Thank You!

Well it's a thermo issue.

You can get a dynamic analysis or do it in energy.

Calculate the heat energy in the steel between ambient and cryo temp. Calculate how much gas is liberated to absorb that energy by change of state from liquid to gas.

Then double it
