Does anyone know where I can find a list of surface heat transfer coefficients for common materials such as stainless steel, or brick? This would be very helpful. Thanks
You can work out transfer rates from this:
subtract lower temperature from higher one (T-high minus T-low)
then divide by
(thickness of material divided by thermal conductivity).
That gives heat transfer rate per unit area. Multiply by the whole surface area to get total heat transfer rate.
This obviously isn't the same as surface transfer coefficients - which I've still yet to find - but hopefully is of some use...and hopefully correct.
