I do construction engineering in a pharma site. I'm looking for a good pre-job checkoff list that will alert us to potential issues before men start the job. It should cover everything, Electric, RIgging, Piping, Paint, all trades, and most every topic, like:

Will you have MSDS data sheets for every chemical you bring on site.

Will licensed trades be able to produce their ID card on the first day of the job.

Have all personnel had 10hour OSHA training.

I know it would be a long list to cover everything, and most of the list would be N/A but we keep getting caught on the most petty stuff. Like the sheet metal worker didn't bring leather gloves and now needs 3 stitches in the emerency room and I have to explain how it happened.

Hello haze10,

if I were in your shoes I would check the current work permit procedures with the folks who supervise regular maintenance. Beside that you may want to obtain a small book “Guidelines for Safe Process Operations and Maintenance” by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Kind Regards,
hahor
