I would like to know if I can contoll access to specific fields in a form based upon a users login information.
Specifically I would like to test the user id to see if 'userid' is a member of the 'Group name'.
The groups are the groups set up by the IT department to controll permissions to servers and folders.
I was asked to create a form in word, excell, or infopath and not access for reasons unknown to me.
any help would be greatly appreciated

I don't remember the exact command - but when the field goes ACTIVE or is ENTERED - you can do a check on that event

There is a registry entry that will give the user login. I'll have to dig to find it, though.

it seemd that info path has that built in, thanks for the answers anyway.

I actaully have people log in to my program - so I can control the whole access thing.
