We have Continuum intelligent building system (by Andover Controls) with 2 controllers CX990-4M-4T (4 MB without coprocessor) with 30 modules AC-1Plus on each controller. It takes 5-8 seconds for a controller to scan all inputs and execute all programs which is not good for the alarm system , i.e. a person opens a door by a card and enters the room but as it has not succeed to disarm an alarm goes off.
The questions are as follows:
1.Will there be any increase in speed if the controller is upgraded to a 8 MB version with a coprocessor?
2. Will there be any increase in speed if network version of software is installed instead of single-user version?
3. Will there be any increase in speed if the third controller is added?
4. Is there any optimal way to run programs on the controller? Is it better to run several small programs or one big one?
5. How make a door program start after the door is open only instead of running it all the time (just like triggers on a numeric)?
6. Is it possible to run the door program on the PC instead of the controller?

Ask Andover. If they use a timer with separate clock or
otherwise compensate for the speed change, the waiting time
may remain the same. Without knowing both hardware and software it is impossible to answeryour question.
