I have an application. I have a device that has an 4 to 20ma output, and a contact closure. I would like to be able to transmit these two signals to two different recievers. The receiver would be able to output the contact closure as well as the 4 to 20 ma signals.

One receiver would be located 1200ft from the transmitter and the other one 3600ft from the transmitter.

Any ideas if such a device exists?

Thanks.

Decided not to use the 4-20mA? Why start another post? Yes this is do-able but expensive.

Just evaluating a second option, not abandoning the first one.

Radios are very much more difficult and problematic. What happens if a single message doesn't make it?

You really aught to tell us a GREAT deal more about what you want this for if you want USEFUL information and nice suggestions.

Belt Scale Integrator. 4-20ma out for rate. Dry Contacts for tons counter. If sigal doesn't make it, no big deal. The remote display are just for information, not control.

You gotta watch that.. "just for information" After a while they can become depended on. :)

There are wireless RS232 modems that can be purchased if you can get to a "data stream" situation. You could use this if your meters and sensor can be had in a serial data output format. Generally these are bidirectional point to point and you are really talking unidirectional point-to-many.

The Phoenix Contact system is like what I need. However, the the documentation states that it can only be operated in certain countries. Anyone aware of such a system that is legal in the US and India?

Maybe you should 'Contact' them directly to find out which countries :)
