Hi guys. Can anybody recommend a consultant that can do process plant explosion modeling? I already did a Google search; now I'm looking for recommendations that anyone might have for a consultant they know of.
We recently used BAKER ENGINEERING AND RISK CONSULTANTS, INC. for a bunch of this type modeling for a new USA gulf coast chemicals complex. They seemed competent.
best wishes,

If you want to do preliminary explosion modeling you can use the DNV PHAST software, I can help you on that.
If you want to see a more detailed information such as how barriers affect gas expansions, you would need software like FLACS, and again, I understand GEXCON is quite good on this kind of modeling.
I know Dave Kirby with Baker, if he's still there. It's been a few years. He is/was very knowledgeable on anything to do with explosions. Another reference is Laurence Britton. He was a process safety consultant. Not sure where he is now.
Good luck,
