Construction Joint

Folks,
This always puzzles me. What is the best way to place your stop boards for the construction joint in slabs / rafts etc.?

* at the lowerst shear line, or
* at the lowerst bending moment line

Minimum shear, thus near midspan,where the bending is developed by push-pull forces, and the compression side is loaded axially without much shear.

between the two you have listed, I would say at the lowest shear. I have an article about construction joints in elevated slabs that didn't say to place them at midspan (lowest shear). I don't remember exactly what it said, but I will look for the article on Monday.
