ever since i started working with solidedge and inventor, I have been trying to create a spherical rod end that limits it's rotation based on its mounting bolt (the one that runs through the sphere).

I don't know how to limit it's angle to less then X but not having it equal to only X.

I constrained the sphere obviously to the housing and it rotates freely. Now, what would the 2nd or 3rd constraints be? Any ideas?

AFAIK it's not possible. The relation will fix the part at that
angle specified and that's it.
To limit a part's linear movement I once found an example that used
construction surface on each part and constrained them with the
Cam relation. The goal was to limit the part's linear movement to
the length of an obround.
It's questionable whether this can be achived in your case. Any
picture of your parts might help maybe someone can come up with
a solution.

i am too lazy to do the part thing right now. But its pretty simple

The mounting bolt that would go through the sphere. This rotates freely in the sphereical joint, but is alloud to rotate into housing interference. IE the bolt and housing exist at the same time in the same regions.

any ideas as to how to diss-allow this state?
