Hi,

In WB.

How can I constrain a surface's translation and still allow it to rotate?

Pingen

Apply a remote displacement and define '0' for all translations. The part will still be able to rotate.

Hope this helps,
Doug

Thanks Doug.

I used elastic supports. I figured that the rotation is small and therefore permitted by the elastic support.

The problem with elastic supports, in my case, is that the rigid body motion becomes large compared to the deformations in the material. Hence, it's difficult to magnify and visualize the deformations.

I think that remote displacement supports would have been a better choice and I'll keep that in mind till next time.
