does any one know how, or where i can find out how, to use this feature?

i am trying to assemble a part & have it rotate on an axis.
i cant get it to translate, i am picking the wrong refs but what do i use to make it work?

Are you making a skeleton part? I would suggest making a skeleton that has a "through" ( axis ) and angle ( from a plane ). By assembling your components to these skeletons features, you can modify the angle valuse of the plane and the assembled components will move with the skeleton.

Assemble by insert, allign/mate and orient plane of component to datum plane created on the fly through an axis parallel to the assembly feature and at an anfle to a plane in the assembly. Modifying the compent in assembly will shange its angle of rototion to desired angle.

Assemble by inserting one part into another one.Next reference should be mate or align.Choose a datum plane of part and creat datum plane (on the fly) in assembly through axis and angle with a datum plane. Give some angle (as desired) to the datum plane. and assemble.
Now you can change this angle any time without failure. N P Singh
