Hi guys, I'm designing a residential building and I need to design a connection between the wood studs and exterior steel studs (for fire protection). It's very urgent!! The connection must resist wind pressure and suction. Can anyone help???
Thanks so much!

Assuming the wood studs can take the wind loads - just select screws that will carry the wind load??

So basically just calculate the wind load and check the capacities of the screws? Can regular screws be fastened between wood and steel?

Thanks alot for your response!

Why not? If you know the bending stress of the screw and its size, it fits into the NDS fastener yield mode equations nicely. You will need to modify a bit for the metal part attached similar to a steel plate and you will have to analyze steel separately and such for its respective failure modes.
