Hi,

I am trying to model two beam elements by using wires. I would like to create a constraint/ connection between wires such that at these connections the wire nodes are allowed rotation but disabled translation motions. The 2 beam element splines are based upon the center line of the beam; the wires with the radius computed will be touching each other these points.

I have attached a picture of the model. I look forward to your suggestions. Thanks so much!

One option is to use equation constraints for these connections. They will allow you to constrain selected degrees of freedom.

This could be done with Python scripting. But if these points have their own node sets, you can copy constraint definitions directly in the input file and just change the set names.
