Connecting LVL Beam to LVL Beam

I am planning to connect 18" LVL to 12" LVL. Should I check the connectors other than their shear capacity?

Use a published capacity from the hanger manufacturers. And make sure there's something to restrain the supporting girder from torsion.

You'll need to distribute load based on their different stiffnesses. Otherwise yes it's just a shear flow calc
