Depending on exactly what you're trying to delay, here are three things you might try...

[ol 1]
[li]Delay Interpart Update: This toggle will temporarily delay all interpart updates in the session while engaged. This includes both WAVE links and Interpart Expression (IPE) relationships. Releasing the toggle will cause an update if anything has been changed in the meantime that takes the model out of date.

For convenience, I use "customize" (CTRL-1) to drag this out onto my assemblies tab:

[/li]
[li]Freeze Update: If you have access to the WAVE Engineering tools, you can use the Associativity Manager to freeze interpart updates (again, WAVE or IPE) for one or more individual parts.

[/li]
[li]Expression Lock Update: For an individual Interpart Expression, you can use the Expressions dialog to "Lock Update" with an MB3 operation:

[/ol]
Again, depending on exactly what you're trying to accomplish, I suspect that one of those three should get you there.

Does that help?

Hi Taylor Anderson

I'm thank you very much for this help

I'll try it in my work place

but meanwhile I reviewed the nx cloning help
and theire said that the clone is taken from
the saved assembly. and not from the interactive ug

what you think about this (is it possible)

Thanks again

What I'm trying to do is cloning by apend a prefix.
I want to clone one component only but the nx cloning system add
to the clone other components that I do not want
may be because of wave links. is there a way to overcome this ?

If it is only one component why not use "make unique" by right clicking on the component in the assembly navigator?

Hi petulf

I prefer to do it with save as more then with make unique.

But I insist to do it by cloning because in the continue
I want to automate it with vb journal.

as noted above that problem occurred becuase of links from wave or assembly deform
that I used in this assy.

Thank you for your response.

Hi Taylor Anderson

The freeze and delay update not helpt me.

Thank you again
