Hello,

I am working on modelling RC column with external steel plates using Abaqus. the external steel plate have some confinement to the core concrete, that means the core concrete compressive stress-strain curve will be different from cylinder test. The question here is when I write the
input file,to model the concrete in the confined column, which curve should I use: the unconfined curve directly from cylinder test, or confined concrete curve considering the confinement by external steel plate. I tried to find some information from Abaqus Document or other examples, but there is no information about it, whether use unconfined or confined concrete curve. Please give me some
hints, Thanks a lot!

Michael
