I have made a cone in sw using revolve. It's a thin because I used only one line in a angle. I would like to control the thickness and flatten the cone. Can some on tell me the best steps for making a cone that needs to be converted to a flat pattern? I made the code 359.999 deg so not to close it and then tried to insert/sheetmetal/bends after that it just tells me no bends found.

Thanks

You'd need to make a small flat face to be able to use the insert sheet metal feature. You may be able to do it using convert to sheet metal feature, but your best bet is to create it as a lofted sheet metal part.

If you click on the Grey button just under the title at the top of your post (NOT the Green Search Button higher up) and type flatten cone into the keyword box you'll get quite a few tips and methods.

You can flatten a cone using Unfold if you selects a straight edge as th stationary "flat face"

You can also try making the cone and then converting to sheet metal after creating the revolve using "Insert-->Sheet Metal--> Bends".
