conductor corrosion measuring

Apparently there are devices that can be placed on a conductor that is in service and give a reading of the amount of corrosion there is at that point in the line. Does anybody know about these devices and/or where to get them?

Something besides an ohmmeter? Not that I know of.

In 1989 a UK based company Cormon marketed an overhead conductor corrosion detector, the OHLCD 200. It consisted of a radio controlled trolley. At that time an outage was required to use the device, except in the case of the earthwire. More than likely improvements have been made since that time.
