I am new to membranes and am having trouble grasping a concept. I was hoping someone could provide some insight.

Here is the scenerio:

The membrane selectivity for H2O/N2 is 50:1
The feed gas is N2 saturated with H2O at 70F and 15 Psia
A vacuum is pulled on the membrane; 10 Psia

Question:

What comes through the membrane?
One possible answer is that the ratio of the N2 to H2O is unchanged.
Another possible answer is that the water vapor comes through the membrane and a large fraction of the vapor immediately condenses.
