Condensate flow measurement close to vapour point.

Have a steam boiler application where I am being asked to control blowdown water flow close to vessel nozzle with process conditions of 260 deg centigrade and 46 barg i.e. just below vapour point. Moving the flow measurement away from the nozzle to decrease temperature is not a viable option.
Have looked at many options but obviously flashing/cavitation is a big issue especially on dp devices. I need a cost effective solution (so coriolis & ultrasonic is out) conductivity is low (so magflow is out).
Only thing that looks promising so far is a McCrometer V-Cone dp device.
Coming from Oil/Gas background I have little experience of Boiler systems & steam/condensate processes - any help would be appreciated.
Device is in ANSI class 600 CS line in a zone 2 hazardous area - intrinsic safety would be preferred option for the transmitter.
The line is 50mm and flowrate max/min is 6000kg/hr / 2000kg/hr.

Thanks in anticipation.

SPJ!

Try for density compensated vortex flow meters, which are widely used for steam applications. There are some meters of Fischer Rosemount where you can mount indicator cum totalizer away from the flow meter body and you will get intrinsically safe meters also.

Note that proper sizing is important and density compensation should a part of it.

I can assist you once you freeze your requirement.

Truth: Even the hardest of the problems will have atleast one simple solution. Mine may not be one.
