what is the grade of concrete to be used for lintel beam reinforced with bamboo???????

Man, you really have me bamboozled on this one!

Even though it is "normal" construction in some locations, is there really a code that covers that?

thats what im searching for IS code specially for bamboo costruction specifically grade of concrete generally used...if u hv any idea then kindly tell me about the grade of concrete????

Organic materials in concrete do not work very long due to chemicals and moisture.

I have seen many organics used in international concrete construction (India, SE Asia, Central America)and they were only posts used to support previously poured slabs on multi-story buildings and removed before they sprouted (usually a week or so to avoid and expansion forces). They never even considered anything but light reinforcement steel in concrete that was available and usable for the long term structure life.

Presumably to that end the Navy research paper recommended drying the bamboo and coating it in pitch. Also, as far as I know it was simply a research project and wasn't put into widespread use.
