Hi! My name is Rodrigo. I am new to this forum. Nice to meet y'all, i hope i can be a help and you guys can help me too!
I am doing an analysis for an existing concrete structure check using SACS.
Why SACS? Because i am an offshore engineer in an offshore company where i am familiar with steel design code such as API.
But concrete, i am not so familiar with that.
So what i want to ask is,
1. Is there any of you who is familiar with BS 5400? If so, what is the best way to check the capacity of existing concrete column?
2. Bentley SACS has provided a way to do this by implementing the ACI Ultimate Strength Design method in term of Unity Check (this, i am familiar with steel structure using interaction equation axial + bending + bending must equal or less than 1).
My question is, if i am using unity check of concrete which SACS has provided, will it be sufficient and equivalent with BS 5400?
Thank you very much guys, i am really hoping you can help me out. Any response would be very, very appreciated.
Regards,
Rod
