Item # 1 - Shear wall as LFRS - Eff. Length factor for columns -
Sway classification of buildings does not depend on the type of LFRS. A story in a given structure is considered nonsway if the stability index for the story is <= 0.05, per ACI-318-05 section 10.11.4.2. In that case k shall be taken as 1.0 per section 10.12.1.

Item #2 - Moment Frame as LFRS - Eff. Length factor for columns- Same reasoning, as above, applies for k.Use k = 1.0 for non sway, and k using alignment charts for sway frames, irrespective of being or not being part of LFRS.
