How is concrete affected at Cryogenic temperature? Pipe lines carrying Liquified Natural Gas are supported on piperack. To contain LNG in case of spill, trough is provided under the pipes. There is potential of fire explosion with LNG spill. Which material is better structural steel or concrete to support pipelines at cryogenic temperatures? also to resist fire in case of fire explosion? Comments & suggestions welcome from somebody experienced in LNG Plants. Is concrete trough advisable because of fire resistance.
