Comprssing hot air

Hi,

I am wondering if there are fans capable of compressing hot air (around 900 C) to say 20 kPag? We just need to feed combustion pre-heated air to a burner.

How big a fan do you require?

There are a lot of fans that can handle the temperature, like recirculation fans of heat treating furnaces.

We need a max fan capcity of about 40000 Nm3/h.

Here are two of several suppliers of high temperature fans that I'm familiar with. We used fans from both companies for recirculation of very hot gases on gas heated reactors.
Robinson might be better able to handle your requirements.

Have you checked with your burner manufacturer about using hot combustion air in the burner. Some burners will turn into pulse jet engines with the introduction of hot combustion air.

My two cents worth - you'd be far better off to compress the air prior to heating it. I realize you probably have a cold air blower right now, and your secondary hot air blower is to deal with the losses you experience thru the heater and into the burners. Still, you'd probably do well to supply a bigger blower right at the front end.
