Compressor shutdown

How is a normal compressor shutdown can you explain in short steps , I know first anti surge valve is opened and then it is tripped via the motor or turbine but in case of emergency shutdown , power most likely goes first followed by ASV opening, I feel both have the same impact that is Settle out condition please elaborate?

You should refer to the operational manual of the unit (Normal shut down and Emergency shut down).
