Hi everyone,

Good day to you.

I come across the following scenario.

Service: Refinery fuel gas

As per P&ID, flow orifice (NOT for flow measurement purpose) is specified on downstream of block valve on down stream of anti-surge control valve.

But it is actually installed adjacent to (flange sharing with the block valve) the block valve on downstream of anti-surge control valve. Please refer to the attached sketch.

Is it acceptable to install FO flange sharing with block valve? If not acceptable, why?

What kind of problem we can anticipate with this design.

A little strange but no issues I can see.
