Hey guys,

Does anyone know how to check a composite studwall in Simpson CFS Designer(counting the full height sheathing with the wall)? If not, how do you check your composite studs?

Thanks,

You take into account composite action? Ballsy.

I've only ever accounted for the sheathing to perform stud bracing and in-plane jobs. Never for out of plane bending or axial capacity directly.

Check SDPWS section 3.1.1.1, allows significant increases to composite EI and bending strength for wall assemblies.

Nevermind, this is asking about cold form steel studs, my mistake.

Also, I'd be leery doing this for fear of a recladding project in the future changing the sheathing out with something that doesn't qualify for composite wall action.

For interior walls, there are tables for composite CFS/GWB studs.
