hello ,,
how i can model composite beam have the following info :
E11 = 134 GPA
E22=11.3 GPA
v12= 0.33
G12 = 5 GPA
-------------------------
plz help how i can model this and what is the best element type to use? bcoz i am new to composite and when i compare my result when theoritical results i get large percent of error the beam have the following dimension : 8 layers of 127 X 12.7 x 1.016 mm3
 
hi

your composite is laminated, isn't it? are you using nastran?
Use MAT8 card to define single lamina and PCOMP to describe the stackup
 
u can use solid element and define material 3d orthotrop then apply this material to fem.
