Component PanelView C600 remote control with MicroLogix 1400

I am using a MicroLogix 1400 with a 2711C-T6T Component PanelView in a Class 1 Division 1 hazardous area. The HMI will be inside the enclosure and the user will not have access to touch the screen when the need arises to clear alarm banners and other types of physical access needs. Is there a way to use an external pushbutton on an input in the PLC to control such buttons on the HMI without being able to touch the Component? If I could just figure out how to control the clear banner button or the scroll keys in the Component PanelView, I believe I could figure the rest out on my own. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
