component mode synthesis

Hello,

I am working on component mode synthesis for the study of plane engines.

I am looking for the mathematical theory behind methods such as the Craig-Bampton method or the Craig-Martinez method. I know the way these methods are working but I am more interested in the studies of new modes to enrich these methods.

I think the theory would be linked with the stability of vectorial subspaces...

Would anyone know more about this subject ?
