Could a geotech please define this term for me?

Is this the bearing preassre that is allowed after you add back in the weight of the soil that was removed above the base of the footing.

Example of my thought. IF i have a 10 foot deep spread footing in 125 pcf soil. The bearing preasssure allowed would equal 10'x125 pcf + Compensated Uniform Mat Contact Pressure

is this it or am i totally off base?

thanks in advance for your help

That would be my assumption, however, you should ask whoever provided the pressure to be sure that is what they intended. It never hurts to be sure.

thanks i did talk to them. it actually describes the method used to determine it.

thanks

for the help
