Comparitive table for commonly used engg plastics

Hi All,
I am a new user in this forum.

It may sound lazy :=), but I wanted to know if there is a compilation somewhere that gives a comparitive table(s)values for various properties of engg. plastics (such as mechanical,chemical, electrical properties...)something like a quick lookup if we need it anytime.

It would be nice if the table also contains a column that lists out 'suggested use/application' and 'special features' (such as the 'Live Hinge' properties of PP) that would help in minimizing the selection when we need to choose one.

I browsed in the web for a while but didn't find a satisfactory one. Ticona's website had some good information.

Consult with people with 20 or 30 years of experience in the marketing of Engineering Plastics.

There are some properties that do not show up in data sheets, and years of experience is still the best way to assess those properties. These are things like sensitivity to warpage, inconsistent impact strength, after shrinkage, sensitivity to degradation in tap water vs distilled water, etc etc.

Thanks for thq quick reply. I Would look into to Plastic Encyclopedia from McGraw Hill. And yes, nothing like an experienced engineer/tool maker to give a gist of how a material would behave under similar conditions. I have seen an example where due attention was not given to material properties when PolySulphon was replaced by Nylon and there was a small issue with Shelf life of the parts.
