Compaction testing frequency - sewer/water lines

I'm curious as to how often one should test sewer and water lines. We currently test approx. every 100 feet. Also, does one test every lift, every 100 feet, or is that too often? Seeking advice - thanks

Whats on top of it? Under a road, I think that is reasonable, but through the woods, you could likely back off. Also, if the DOT has a requirement for the roads, then hold them to that as a minimum.

Pesonally, I am a fan of more testing. Not just for job security, but because I dislike seeing where poor compactive effort, unchecked, creates problems for items constructed above.

Thank you for the reply - It is generally under a roadway, specifically for subdivisions. Do you test every lift - or do you do "randoms"?

Testing every two (2) feet of fill is probably sufficient.
