Refer to above thread1203-479776, Common reasons for Bellows failure , don1980 (Chemical) mentioned that " When the PSV goes though a single opening/closing cycle, the bellows may experience hundreds of compression cycles. So the key to preventing bellows failure is to prevent the PSV from opening in the first place". Such statement is available in any international standard. Is it possible to share any standard reference(like API or ASME) Your kind support please..
 
A PRV is a device that should never open should the system be designed and operated to optimum criteria. As already elaborated in the earlier thread, there can be many reasons for bellows failure, either happening due to one cause or several at the same time. There is also the issue of how well maintained the PRV has been and the users own experience of PRV's. Bellows do not have an infinite lifecycle and are always recommended as replacement spares from all manufacturers. It's a known fact in this industry that bellows will ultimately fail for various reasons.

What is it you're actually looking for and why? If you are having bellows issues you should be finding out the the root cause(s), and take up the issue from there.
